Touching the Earth Sangha at ten years old

It’s hard to imagine the Touching the Earth Sangha has been in existence for ten years. The first day of mindfulness was held on March 7th 2009, and the first evening meeting happened in Glastonbury on June 22nd 2009.
As part of our ten year celebrations, Senior Dharma Teacher Martin Pitt was invited to facilitate a transmission ceremony for the Five Mindfulness Trainings at the Sweet Track Centre in Glastonbury on March 24th. This was followed by a bring something Vegan to share type meal and a social get together and celebration.
The ceremony was a great success, and nine members of the Sangha formally committed to practicing the Five Mindfulness Trainings, and the social gathering and meal afterwards was great fun and a true celebration of the brotherhood and sisterhood that we have collectively generated in the Sangha. The vegan birthday cake was really nice as well!
In addition to our ten years of existence as a Sangha practicing on days of mindfulness and evening meetings, we are soon to be holding our ninth annual retreat spread over five days on the theme of ‘Gratitude’.  This too will be an opportunity to celebrate ten years of practicing together.
Many thanks to Sam, Ark, Collette, Judy and John for all the work in the steering group which makes all the different things we do possible! A bow of gratitude to you…..    Kev
