The Touching the Earth Sangha is a Glastonbury based Buddhist Community of practitioners from the Thich Nhat Hanh tradition of Zen Buddhism. Check the blog for Sangha updates, latest news and articles related to Thich Nhat Hanh and Plum Village UK.

The Sangha meets regularly for Days of Mindfulness practice (see dates below).

Glastonbury Homeless Hearts Community



The Touching the Earth Sangha has decided to offer support to this grass roots project that is helping homeless people and people in vulnerable homes such as caravans by taking donations at the last two Sangha meetings of the year - Saturday 7th December  (the day of mindfulness),  and Monday 9th December at the Sweet Track Centre.


This is the list of what is needed:

Blankets
Sleeping bags
Sleeping mats
Duvets
Deodorant (roll on type is easier to carry for those walking the streets)
Wet wipes
Soap
Shampoo
Toothpaste & Brush
Flannels
Toilet rolls
Sanitary products
Clothing for men and women, especially warm coats.
Underwear
Socks
T Lights
Batteries
Camping lights
Head torch
Warm hats, scarves, gloves
Rucksacks
Tents
Foil Blankets
Thermal underwear
Bin bags
Hot water bottles and covers
Camping stoves and gas
Exo Cookers
Flasks

Also looking for Tins of Soup/Stews, packet Soup, instant porridge breakfast food, tinned veg, tins of baked beans, dried pasta, any foodstuffs easily stored and cooked using camping stoves or camp fires. Any Army type food packs that are self heating.
